Press Release
Lake Bluff History Museum  is proud to announce the launch of its debut podcast series in partnership with the Lake Bluff 250 Committee. This 16-episode initiative is a cornerstone of the village’s celebrations for the United States’ 250th anniversary, offering a deep dive into the local stories that shaped the community “Lake Bluff Style.”
The series, hosted by museum co-founder Kathy O’Hara, features 250 minutes of captivating local lore. In each episode, O’Hara sits down with Joanna Rolek, Executive Director of the Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Chamber of Commerce, to explore the people and events that define the village’s unique character.
“We wanted to find a modern way to bring our archives to life for this milestone national anniversary,” said O’Hara. “We’re ensuring that Lake Bluff’s contributions to the American story are shared in a format that residents can enjoy anywhere—whether they’re commuting or walking through the very neighborhoods we’re discussing.”
The series covers a sweeping array of topics, from early settlers and the prohibition movement to the kidnapping of General MacArthur and village crimes and controversies. Episodes will be released on Thursdays starting April 30 in both audio and video formats, making these stories more accessible than ever before.
In addition to O’Hara and Rolek, the podcast team includes Bruce Himmelblau with Blue Sky Video, Terry Moran, Danny McMurray, Fred Koch, Nancy Leone, Lyndy Jensen, Adrienne Fawcett and Pam Russell.
